What is a Screen Saver? "Back when computers took up more than just your desktop, and Bill Gates was delivering pizza - if a monitor sat too long showing the same thing, that image could get burned into the screen. This would leave you with a faint "ghost" showing over everything on your screen - This was very bad! So, The Powers That Be created a small program that would turn on when your screen sat for too long and just randomly change the picture enough so that nothing was sitting long enough to make any ghosts.
Over time monitors have reached the point where they can sit for very long periods of time without worrying about images burning into them, though most people still get entertainment from staring at their screen saver. And of course it's gotten kinda fun to experiment with making newer and cooler savers for people to stare at.
Downloading new screen savers and therefore changing the "personality" of your computer is very easy, and can be fun to show off to friends. There are countless screen savers available for free, and some even better ones that are no more than a few dollars."

What is a Wallpaper? "Just like wallpaper in your house gives you some brief respite from staring at plain and sometimes rather drap walls, Wallpaper on your computer does pretty much the same thing.
When you first start up your computer, and it finishes all of its thinking and sputtering, you'll find yourself staring at a screen with probably some icons on one side for different programs. Typically the background will be a solid color and otherwise very plain.
Thanks to modern technology, and one very rich man, we as users of windows have the option to change our backdrop into pretty much any image we want. Of course the physics of taking a 2 inch square picture and blowing it up to fit our screen makes the picture look more than a little distorted, thus the art of creating wallpaper was born.
Good wallpaper is an image that is specifically sized to fit your screen without distorting at all. There are many artists and would be artists who spend all day creating new images for people to use as their wallpaper. And if you find a good site with lots of free downloads, you could easily have a new picture on your screen every day of the year!"

Why  the registration key (password) didn't remove the seven-day limit? The two most common reasons for this are 1) the key was from old version and 2) the wrong screensaver was selected. To successfully enter the registration key, follow these instructions. Click on Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, open the Display icon, click on the Screen Saver tab, make sure that the correct screen saver is selected, click on the Settings... button, and click then on the right of the Register... button. Why after I type in the registration key (password) is showing a message - "INVALID PASSWORD"? If You enter a password and have got a message "Invalid password",
this signifies is You installed our software of old version.

4. Enter of password, which specified in the registration message.

Why do I get an error when trying to install? Our screensavers require Windows 95, 98 or NT. They will not work with Windows 3.1 or Macintosh computers. If you're using Windows 95/98/NT, and you still get an error while installing, the most likely reason for this is a corrupted download. Please try to download and install the software again. If you're running Windows NT, please download directly from Altix Soft, Inc. as they have the latest versions of our screensavers which fix a Windows NT install bug.

Why are some of the images corrupt or garbled? There are two likely causes:

  • The most likely reason for this is a corrupted download. Please try to download and install the software again. We recommend that you first uninstall the software before reinstalling.
  • Another reason may be that your system is in 256-color mode. In this mode, an image may change to very strange colors as a new image enters the screen. To fix this problem, go into your Display settings in the Control Panel. Click on the Settings tab. Change the colors to High Color (16-bit) or higher. You may need to restart your computer.

Why are some transitions jerky or slow? Our screensavers come with 14 different transitions. If some of the transitions appear jerky or slow, the most likely cause is your hardware. Transitions can require significant processing power and memory. Some video cards may not be able to run the transitions as quickly and smoothly as possible. The easiest solution is to select only those transitions that you want. You can do this in the screensaver settings. To get there, open the Display properties in the Control Panel, select the Screen Saver tab, click on the Settings... button next to the name of the screensaver, and then select the Display Effects tab. Place a check next to the transitions you want. You may need to experiment to find the optimal combination of transitions and duration choice of effects.

Why did the evaluation period end prematurely? Our screensavers base their evaluation period on the date of installation. If you change your computer's system date for any reason, the screensaver may think the evaluation period has ended. This could happen if you are testing your computer for Y2K bugs. It could also happen if your computer has a BIOS bug that causes the system date to be reset when you restart your computer. If you wish to continue evaluating a screensaver whose evaluation period ended early, please setup a normal current date and Screensaver will work.

Why a computer unable to enter standby or hibernation by using the timer in Power Management properties (use Windows XP)?
If the Direct3D-based screen saver is running in Windows XP, the computer may be unable to enter standby or hibernation by using the timer in Power Management properties. Download XP-Patch.
